L'Americaine: stripes and stars for a chic-casual  look, Chanel style, or pile on pastel layers for the same result. Gain classic glamour  with a ruffled red Lanvin dress or with Balenciaga floral prints.

Valentino Couture Spring 2008

Valentino Garavani said goodbye to fashion world with his last couture show held on the 23rd of January, 2008. And what a farewell it was! The collection was an impressive array of over seventy outfits celebrating a long and successful career.

Alessandro Dell'Acqua Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

Alessandro Dell'Acqua spring 2008 ad campaign features lovely Magdelena Fracowiak and a beautiful hand-painted paravent. I absolutely love the ss08 ad campaign for Alessandro Dell' Acqua! It focuses on this season's boudoir theme (sheer fabrics, lace) but in a charming, romantic manner. The asian references that ran through Dell'Acqua spring 2008 collection are reminded here by wide obi-belts and a beautiful hand painted paravent. Otherwise, the prints have a retro mood, recalling 60s chic sophistication.

Christian Lacroix Couture Spring 2008

"An Angel Passing By", Christian Lacroix spring 2008 couture collection is a delightful mix of exuberant designs, all accessorized with ombre-tinted tights. Christian Lacroix delights as usual with his spring/summer 2008 couture collection presented on 22nd of January, 2008. Each and every look of this collection, named "An Angel Passing By", is unique, exuberant and very elaborate in an apparently effortless way.

Blumarine Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

Could the romantic spirit of Blumarine be back with its ss08 collection? Anna Molinari said she designed her collection for a holiday in Saint-Tropez so I guess the delicate, ruffled designs with a vintage glamour touch kind of made way for a flashy twenty-first-century aesthetics.

Anne Valérie Hash Couture Spring 2008

A.V. Hash's couture spring 2008 collections is best described by sheer fabrics cleverly cut into viable clothes using layering and pleating techniques as well as strategically placed beading. Anne Valérie Hash (1971, Paris) graduated from Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in 1995. After working for Nina Ricci, Christian Lacroix, Chanel and Dior she launched her own label in 2001. Two years later she was granted with the prestigious Andam Award for a promising young fashion designer, a honor also received by Martin Margiela in 1989 and by Viktor&Rolf in 1994.

Jill Stuart Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

Jill Stuart spring/summer 2008 ad campaign features a red-headed siren - model Irina Kulikova - laying in the middle of what seems to be the remains of a ship wreck. This should sound like a dramatic image but those candy colors, the sheer organza layers, Irina's not so innocent look give these prints a puckish feeling.

Givenchy Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

The spring 2008 ad campaign for Givenchy ready-to-wear line uses a baroque setting, lots of mirrors and the cliché duo of a blonde and a brunette. Riccardo Tisci's pal, Mariacarla Boscono, and it-model of the moment, Lara Stone, sport the spring/summer 2008 rtw collection's highlights: the knee-high gladiator sandals, metallic eyelet inserts adorning leather jackets and chiffon tops and the quirky bubble dress with oversize polka dot print.

Dolce&Gabbana Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

I absolutely adore Dolce&Gabbana's spring/summer 2008 ad campaign. The Italian design duo took further the season's arty inspiration and imagined a painter's loft and three beautiful muses that never cease to taunt him. Their smoldering eyes and lush, berry-stained lips electrify the bohemian space.

Miroïke Spring/Summer 2008

The Berlin label's unconventional aesthetics is partly inspired by Vivienne Westwood, and in part by the 1950s French New Wave cinema. Design philosophy: rebellious sophistication with highest craftsmanship techniques and premium natural materials.
The Berlin-based women's wear label MIROÏKE was founded by Ulrike Seidel and Ramiro Calderón Alvarado in 2004. Both designers are graduates of the Berlin University of the Arts, where they quickly developed an original design aesthetic while studying fashion under Vivienne Westwood.

Gucci Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

The latest ad campaign for Gucci features a smiling Natasha Poly and a cheeky landscape. Models: Natasha Poly and Mat Gordon. Photographer: Ines van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

I can't make up my mind about the spring 2008 ad campaign from Gucci. In some way I think this is quite genius but a part of me cries ‘this is so wrong'. Maybe this was its purpose - to raise eyebrows, to intrigue... I know that fashion should break barriers but the image of the beautiful Natasha leaning against a horse statue's buttocks just troubles me.

Atelier Versace Spring 2008

Latest Atelier Versace collection showed some gorgeous long gowns, fit for the red carpet: draping, pleats, long mermaid-y tails in white, black and striking shades of red, copper, turquoise or midnight blue.

Donatella Versace presented the spring 2008 collection of her couture line in the discreet setting of Versace Paris boutique's back room. Fifteen gowns were shown, many of them red carpet material. The Atelier Versace line took serious steps forward in terms of sophistication, taste, and fabrics.

Mongrels In Common

With this year nomination for the Karstadt New Generation Award presented during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin (27-31 January, 2008), the young Berlin-based label ad another success on their already impressive bio. Mongrels In Common is a Berlin-based label, founded in 2006 by two Esmod School of Design graduates, Livia Ximénez-Carrillo and Christine Pluess. They made their debut at "Moët et Chandon" Fashion Award 2006, with a spring/summer 2007 show including both menswear and womenswear.

Iceberg Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign

Here is actress Mischa Barton modeling again for Iceberg, the Italian fashion label. The Spring/Summer 2008 Ad Campaign features great photos with a grown-up, sexy and provocative looking Mischa. Now that's a change from the pretty teenager, girly image she used to have.
