The spring/summer 2008 Roberto Cavalli collection was a surprisingly turn aside from the flashy looks that embodied Cavalli label up till last few seasons. The loud animal prints have been replaced by delicate florals, clingy fabrics by romantic laced batiste, sheer chiffon and silk. However, fringes and feathers are still there to emphasize this new romantic, feminine look but not at all innocent and the evening dresses are as superb as ever.
The collection has a seventies feel and the ads emphasize that retro aura. The images suggest a seventies roof party featuring three botticelli-esque beauties: Daria Werbowy, Eva Herzigova and Kate Moss. The pool's neon shades reflect onto those superb, floating dresses, complementing the rich color palette.
Photographers: Ines van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
