Kellylicious by Ludmila Corlateanu

Not long ago you read about Ludmila Corlateanu fall 2008 ready-to-wear collection being one of the best presented at Romanian Fashion Week. Only at its 3rd season, this Bucharest-based label has already climb up the ladder to success; fashion editorials, online reviews, international fashion fairs.

Speaking of which, Ludmila's latest collection for spring-summer 2009 season, entitled "Kellylicious", will be displayed at Pret A Porter Paris Fashion Fair, "Creative By" Hall, from September 5th to 8th, 2008.

The spring 2009 collection, made of 19 dresses for day and evening/cocktail, follows the brand design philosophy: a "quiet" mix of classical shapes and modern chic flair with subtle influences from different cultures.

The main inspiration comes from the late 50s-early 60s silhouettes, with Grace Kelly as fashion muse. In fact, the story of the collection imagines a young, bachelorette Grace Kelly having fun on a French Riviera holiday.

Hence the "boarding-school" style, which, along the lively contrasts (contrasting yokes, panels and bows) and the use of high-tech fabrics resulted in a "modern-vintage" look. The color palette is simple but delicious: basic white and black, dusty pink and red floral prints.

Ludmila Corlateanu designs can be found in Venice (Italy) and Bucharest (Romania) selected boutiques but you can contact the designer through her blog, milasfashion.livejournal.com, for any kind of info regarding her collections.
