Miu Miu spring/summer 2009 ad campaign

Miuccia Prada continues to seek out her advertising muses among today's big screen sirens. For spring/summer 2009 Mrs. Cruise, actress Katie Holmes is the new image for youthful brand Miu Miu. Shot last November in a New York studio by photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and inspired by director Federico Fellini's art films the ad campaign portrays a "luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality".

Since Katie Holmes has become quite a fashion style icon she's more than suited to pick up the task and she ads more dramatic depth  to Miu Miu ads than her forerunners. She truly depicts " the complicated feminine ideal, a woman impossible to define, both sophisticated and nonchalant, independent and sensual, elegant and light".
