Rozalb de Mura spring 2008

Rozalb de Mura (a word game of "rosée" and "blackberry") is a young Romanian clothing label founded in 2006 by Hungarian-Romanian designer Olah Gyarfas. Furthermore, Rozalb de Mura is developing as a multidisciplinary platform that supports collaborations between fashion designers, visual artists, musicians and writers of various nationalities.

Olah Gyarfas designs every collection around a story. This time, for spring/summer 2008 it's about a hidden desert city. The neutral palette fuses with the rock landscape inhabited only by quiet lizards. The designer uses the classical silhouette as a canvas for innovative details some inspired by the local folk costume.

The inoffensive pleats change into collars with hyperbolical striations continued in reptilian ridges along the spine. The best pieces include the simple white, gray or beige dresses with neo-Elizabethan collar, crest-ended on the back along with the grey dress featuring a sumptuous ruffled collar cascading down the front.

Rozalb de Mura spring/summer 2008 In 2006 Olah Gyarfas was granted by the Unit F Büro Für Mode (Vienna), the Austrian organization promoting young avant-garde designers, with the Kontakt Erste Bank Award for the most creative Eastern European fashion designer. 2007 was the year of the first important contacts with the international market, and the positive echoes following Stockholm and Paris fashion fairs fueled the designer's creativity. Fall2008/winter2009 collection, called "The Thing", was presented at IDEAL Fashion Show & VILLA NOIR in Berlin on February 2, 2008. www.rozalbdemura.ro
