Window shopping in Vienna

While in Vienna I did a little window shopping among other 'special agent' Stylish Girl duties. I'm really interested how fashion retailers can capture the brand essence; I mean the store's window plays a big part in the whole marketing strategy. I now remember that one of my favorite classes was merchandising (mainly because I could make use of my colored crayons but shhh...don't tell anyone else).

I found lovely Christmas decorating ideas at Leiner. Useful color themes for future home decor projects: white and gold, black-blue-green and yellow-orange-brown.

Speaking about Vienna I can say that I'm kind of disappointed by the big fashion names such as Chanel, Gucci and Armani and their lack of creativity or interest for Viennese clients. In exchange the local brands (I think) or the international chain stores that don't get that media attention anymore (Sisley, United Colors of Benetton) got more into the festive mood. I like windows that tell a story. But do correct me if I'm wrong.

One funny thing is that the windows at H&M stores were literally empty in the first day of Christmas as if a tornado came and blow it all. This is not a metaphor, if I think at the enthusiastic H&M shoppers a day earlier.
