Copenhagen Fashion Week #2

Three more shows from Copenhagen Fashion Week prove the modern approach to women's wear of Danish fashion, expressed in fresh silhouettes and a focus on details.

Preen by Thornton and Bregazzi debuted at London Fashion Week in Spring 2001, and, since then, made its way through the fashion world with its unconventional, fresh look. The label, known for the use of traditional fabric and clean, modern cuts is now sold in over 170 stores worldwide. The Preen Line, targeted towards a younger market, showed its fall/winter 2008 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week, on February the 10th. The show had a youthful energy sending out hip, edgy and minimalist daywear in a neutral color palette punctuated by splashes of bright blue.

Rützou's designs are both wearable and distinct, with a unique look generated by their details and ornaments, unexpected fabric and color combinations. Its fall 2008 collection uses soft, fluid and glossy fabrics (including leather) generating a cool, urban look, meant to be mixed and matched. The designer Susanne Rützou thinks that fashion is about one's attitude of life and that it "should make people feel good, look their best and be comfortable".

The Danish designer Stine Goya made her debut during Copenhagen Fashion Week in February 2007. She has ten years of working experience in the fashion field, first as a model for Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld and later as a stylist for fashion magazines including Harper's Bazaar, DANSK, and Costume and as fashion editor for the Cover Magazine. Stine Goya's signature style is best described by clean, classic lines paired with handcraft details and experimental proportions adding bold colors and prints to a neutral color palette.
