Fashion awards support young fashion designers

Dutch fashion designers Niels Klavers and Astrid van Engelen won, on November 1st, the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award 2007 with their label Klavers van Engelen. They received a financial reward of 25.000 euro meant to smooth their progress in the international fashion industry.

This is the first edition of the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards, organized by the Dutch Fashion Foundation with the assistance of an international jury. They chose Klavers van Engelen out of seven nominated designers during this first annual Award show held at Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam.

Tuesday, the 6th of November another fashion award winner was announced. In Barcelona, the jury of the first Mango Fashion Awards, with Valentino as the head of jury and Liz Hurley as a jury member, decided that the partnership between Italian Sandrina Fasoli and the Belgian Michael Märson should won the prize of 300.000 euros.
