Lizzie Fortunato is a New York-based women’s accessories label founded by twin sisters Elizabeth and Kathryn Fortunato. Beside their main jewelry line, they've added leather goods since the launch of their fall-winter 2011 collection. Richly detailed and meticulously crafted these accessories mix reclaimed materials with precious stones and metals. The result is a unique look both fashion forward and bohemian - take the hand embroidered supple leather Ipad case for example. This young label has already gain success with features in prominent glossy magazines and design collaborations with fellow New York fashion brands Suno and VPL.
Lizzie Fortunato spring-summer 2012 accessories collection
The Lizzie Fortunato spring summer 2012 collection is inspired by mid-century southern California architecture, in particular by Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs. Big and bold jewelry pieces in desert hues fuse sophisticated design with fresh mix of various materials – precious stones, gold plated metals and also wood, leather or simple braids. I love the artisan look of this collection although the finishing works are far from rudimentary. The eye-catching leather goods line including a camera bag, card cases, an I-pad clutch, shoulder bags and an oversized pouch are all decorated with geometric embroidery that reveal the strong marriage of refined craftsmanship, functionality and modern silhouettes.
