If you're on your way to Netherlands you should definitely make a stop in Hague. The Hague Court Fashions Exhibition is opened until 2nd of December 2007, at Gemeentemuseum.
This exhibition is designed by Maarten Spruyt, stylist and art director for a number of designers such as Tommy Hilfiger, and its exhibits are top creations by international fashion houses made for aristocracy class members, from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
The city of Hague is known as the home of Dutch court and nobility and for its reputation of high sophistication and refinement. The gowns displayed at Gemeentemuseum were worn by ladies of the court at receptions, dinners, balls, weddings and also during times of mourning and each item of clothing showed high class: beautiful colors, incredibly long trains, dazzling gold and silver embroidery and expensive lace from the Belle Époque.
