Lena Criveanu Spring/Summer 2008

This is only the forth signature collection for Romanian designer Lena Criveanu and she is already considered one of the most valuable names in Romanian fashion. Among the top three, I'd say. After her debut in 2006, her career went sky high, the designer being able to build, in merely two years, a strong label with a definite style.

Lena Criveanu Spring/Summer 2008

Lena Criveanu's designs are feminine, subtle, with a touch of precious extravagance. Hand-painted prints and fabric appliqués are becoming trademarks. Her spring 2008 collection, called The Moldavian Rose, is inspired by Romanian ethnic motifs. The rose motif is "translated" into graphic prints, rose-shape molded fabric details and textile flowers attached to hats made of white lace.

Lena Criveanu - The Moldavian Rose

Lena Criveanu - The Moldavian RoseThe designer uses a lot of white and pastels but also more grown-up colors such as dark purple, chocolate brown or navy. The tulle pieces that close Lena Criveanu fashion show give a playful, witty twist. See the entire collection at fashionandbeauty.ro
