Global fashion label H&M enlists American topmodel Karlie Kloss to star in the autumn 2011 lookbook. Trends for the upcoming fall include 1970s tailoring from soft, thick fabrics (flannel, tweed, leather) and precious silk, lace, brocade, velvet, all in warm colors including luscious burgundy red, camel, chocolate brown, cream, tan, forest green, rusty brown, tomato red.
H&M fall 2011 collection brings out flare skirts, A-line capes and trenches, a new take on the silk harem trousers and palazzo pants, and a lovely dark floral print. Add tweed and suede ankle boots with inward curved heels, chic moto gloves and cloche hats and you have a lady-like look with a twist.
There are also subtle glam-goth traces for evening wear, especially the all-black silky outfits with fringes or crochet lace and a luxe-grunge undertone, with relaxed, cozy layers; the grey tweed blazer with black wool sleeves is a great piece and so is the batwing sleeve cardigan or the fur-collar parka layered over long shirts and knit sweaters.
All in all a great collection that will set the tone of street fashion in over 40 countries on four continents.
