  3. Julia Roberts Sparkles in Chopard's New Happy Diamonds Campaign

Julia Roberts Sparkles in Chopard's New Happy Diamonds Campaign

Julia Roberts, the Oscar-winning actress and global ambassador for Lancôme, has added another prestigious brand to her portfolio: Chopard. The Swiss luxury jewelry and watchmaker has tapped Roberts as the face of its new Happy Diamonds campaign, which celebrates the joy and sparkle of its iconic collection.

The campaign, shot by Shayne Laverdière, features Roberts wearing various pieces from the Happy Diamonds line, including earrings, necklaces, rings, and watches. The jewelry is characterized by its moving diamonds that dance freely inside transparent sapphire crystals, creating a playful and dazzling effect.

Roberts showcases her radiant smile and expressive eyes as she poses with the jewelry, conveying a sense of happiness and elegance. The campaign also includes a short film directed by Xavier Dolan, in which Roberts dances to the tune of "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac while wearing a stunning Chopard necklace with 25.8 carats of diamonds.

The film is inspired by the story of how the Happy Diamonds collection was born. In 1976, Chopard's designer Ronald Kurowski was mesmerized by the sight of a waterfall in the Black Forest, where he saw thousands of tiny water droplets sparkling in the sun. He decided to create a jewelry line that would capture the same effect of light and movement, and thus, the Happy Diamonds concept was born.

The collection has since become one of Chopard's signature lines and has been worn by celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Princess Diana. The brand has also been a longtime supporter of the Cannes Film Festival, where it has created the coveted Palme d'Or trophy since 1998.

Why Julia Roberts is the perfect choice for Chopard

Roberts is no stranger to Chopard's creations, as she has often worn them on the red carpet and in her movies. She famously wore a vintage Chopard necklace with 42 carats of diamonds in the 2016 film Money Monster, directed by her friend and frequent collaborator George Clooney.

The actress has also been a loyal customer of the brand for many years. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, she revealed that she bought herself a Chopard watch after she won her first Golden Globe for Steel Magnolias in 1990. She said that it was her way of celebrating her achievement and rewarding herself for her hard work.

Roberts is not only a fan of Chopard's jewelry but also of its ethical values. The brand is committed to using only responsibly sourced materials, such as Fairmined gold and conflict-free diamonds, and supports various social and environmental causes through its philanthropic arm, the Chopard Foundation.

Roberts shares this passion for making a positive difference in the world, as she has been involved with several humanitarian and environmental organizations, such as UNICEF, ONE Campaign, Red Nose Day, and Heal the Bay. She has also been vocal about raising awareness on issues such as climate change, human rights, and women's empowerment.

The collaboration between Roberts and Chopard is, therefore, a perfect match, as they both embody the spirit of happiness, beauty, and responsibility. As Caroline Scheufele, Chopard's co-president and artistic director said: "Julia Roberts was the only person I felt could convey the spirit that I see in Happy Diamonds: her exceptional radiance, her vitality, her generosity."
