All Green at Portland Fashion Week

Portland Fashion Week

Category

  • All things chic

The first eco friendly fashion week was held in October, 19 to 24, at Portland, Oregon. There were thirty five independent designers among which sixteen well known eco designers who presented their Spring/Summer 2008 collections at Portland Fashion Week. Not only the eco-fashion clothes showcased but everything was green at this fashion event: the bamboo runway, the eco-friendly styling products, the energy efficient LED lighting and the whole décor - recycled fabric, paper and sustainable furniture. There was even completely organic food and drink on the menu.

Alula, Emily Katz, Holly Stalder, Izzy Lane, Kate Towers, NatureVsFuture

These are few of the runway images taken by The Photographers, and prove how innovative and desirable eco fashion can be: beautiful, glamorous dresses, couture-inspired designs and comfy jeans all made of organic fabrics. If you want to find out more about the eco-fashion week in Portland, take a look at this event's official website www.portlandfashionweek.net.

The Mad Hat

Christian Lacroix

Spring 2008 runways have shown a lot of women's hats. Does this mean we're going back to 'can't get out of the house without a hat' times? Could the hat be as essential as a handbag these days? Well I think the answer...
