Coats&Jackets by Camilla Wellton

I love a unique piece of outerwear and swedish designer Camilla Wellton knows how a standout coat should look. The fall/winter 2009 capsule collection of black wool coats and jackets gained a great deal of interest on her Stockholm-based prêt-á-porter/eco couture/ made to measure label.

Soft, dense wool textures and deep black hues complement the precise rounded cuts, subtly asymmetrical for a movement effect, with architectural details inspired by oriental traditional costumes (the kimono) or by historical European fashions, especially Art Nouveau style.

These elegant silhouettes with high-waist fitted bodices, three quarter sleeves, flaring skirts and unexpected extravagant details have a very polished but edgy look, easy to fit in a modern feminine wardrobe.

Camilla Wellton’s coats and jackets have names like Kimonoat, Urban Elfin or Dakini, optional ecological hemp/silk mix lining and are available in made-to-measure sizes, with a little extra cost ($150-250 USD for a price range $500-750USD).

One of the few eco-conscious fashion labels, Camilla Wellton donates 10% of its profit to Vi-skogen, Swedish organization supporting agro forestry and the planting of new trees.
